Announcements:

No major announcements to be reported.

Treasurer’s Report: Barbara

Treasurer’s report was sent around, and we are still on track.

Francis (Fran) Oscadal retirement may not have been included in the report.

We are planning on doing something to honor Jeff Horrell in all his years of support, and will be coordinating with Admin. Brenda Delaney is the go between, and we will hear more soon. Admin will help contribute with the reception. The Winged Victory was suggested as a parting gift, please continue to think of ideas and keep in mind, something more eminent than of extreme value. Send any ideas to the elected officers: (Rick Hansen, Greg Potter, Barbara Sterling, and Katie DeFord).

The Biomed libraries received funds for staffroom maintenance. A question was brought up if this was specific to Dana (who requested these funds) or the Biomed libraries as a whole? These funds were specific to Dana. If HSL, or any other library staffroom needs funds for maintenance, they may ask. Information on this can be found here: https://www.dartmouth.edu/~library/home/committees/dclsa/breakroom.html

3 injures and 3 bereavement

As you may know, Loey Crook’s brother Charlie was severely burned recently. If you would like to donate, please let Dave Sturges know. We are going to purchase a Co-Op gift card and present it to the Crook family this Friday (February 19th). The most recent update as of today (February 16th) is that Charlie is home and recovering well, with a lot of physical therapy ahead.

Other Items:

Hazen Allen is replacing Sarah Tischer Scully as JMC liaison.

It was heavily suggested that the Sarah Jo Buckingham award moves to the Spring Meeting and early discussion of potential participants were included. If you have comments about this please let any of the elected officers know (Rick Hansen, Greg Potter, Barbara Sterling, and Katie DeFord). Information about this award can be found here: https://www.dartmouth.edu/~library/home/committees/dclsa/sarah_jo_buckingham_award.html. We will be looking into when the spring meeting is (sometime in June) and double checking that the room is booked.

Coming up next month, we will be advertising about election for officers. This election is every year for positions for DCLSA and members at large. Elected officers will be announced at the spring meeting. Information about the election, terms of officers and members can be found here: https://www.dartmouth.edu/~library/home/committees/dclsa/job_descriptions.html#committees

At the last meeting, we brainstormed about other events we can do; Spelling bee, Bingo book (winning funds go to Haven?), Pie day, Arbor Day; one for all… It was also thought that we could do something for the VA. As an example; Tracey sent valentines to everyone in the library, we could do something similar to the VA. Maybe on Memorial Day (May 30th and make it into a food drive? Other groups send things to the VA as well, and we want to be mindful so we don’t overwhelm the VA with similar ideas.  It was remembered that we sent holiday cards, and they were much appreciated.

Next DCLSA Meeting:
