Easy Cheese Fondue, from Goodie's Mother

      • 4 slices white bread, cut in 1/2 and buttered
      • 1 cup (1 1/4 lb) cheese, cut in small pieces or grated
      • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
      • 2 eggs, well beaten
      • 2 cups milk
      • 1/2 teaspoon salt
      • 1/8 teaspoon pepper (optional)


1.Heat oven to 350 degrees F

2.Place bread in shallow baking dish, 8 X 12".

3.Spread cheese over bread and sprinkle with mustard.

4.Mix egg, milk and seasonings and pour over bread.

5.Bake about 30 minutes, until puffy and brown.

If desired, dish can be stored up to one hour before.
