The Library considers gifts based on the same criteria as for purchased materials, which may include the need for a local copy, space restrictions, and duplication of content held in other formats. If your proposed gift includes multiple titles, please mail a list in advance that includes: title, author, and imprint. This enables us to search our holdings to identify needed titles prior to physical receipt.
- The Library is not able to guarantee that all donated materials will be added to its collections and it may discard or sell some donated items. We partner with Better World Books through their Library Discards and Donations Program whenever possible. We do not return such items to the donors.
- The Library acknowledges the extent of the gift in an acknowledgement letter, but does not offer appraisal services for tax purposes.
- Gifts appraised by an independent appraiser at $500 or greater are reported to the College's Gift Recording Department who will then send the donor a gift receipt.
- Electronic gift plates require special arrangement. Contact Acquisitions Services for more information.
