About These Films

The Dartmouth Library holds hundreds of hours of archival film, videocassette tape, and digital video from the 1920s to the present day, chronicling the Dartmouth experience over the decades. These reels document the shared history of Dartmouth College: commencements, winter carnivals, drama productions, student gatherings, famous guest speakers, football games, life in Hanover, the Upper Valley community, and the professors, staff, and students who populate the Dartmouth campus. Here is a small selection of the films in our archives. Work is ongoing to preserve, digitize, and deliver the rest of these records of our distant and recent past.

Additional video footage of life at Dartmouth College can be found on the Dartmouth College YouTube Channel.
