The Gender Research Institute at Dartmouth (GRID) is Dartmouth College's flagship organization for interdisciplinary gender-based research. GRID works closely with the Women's and Gender Studies Program, the Center for Gender and Student Engagement, and the Office of Pluralism and Leadership at Dartmouth College. Synergizing research with pedagogy and social involvement is at the core of the Gender Research Institute as is the mentoring of our students' leadership interests and aspirations. This triangulation allows us to better frame our research to educate and train future leaders to address the dynamism and complexity of the world.

The Gender Research Institute (GRID) encourages, facilitates, and showcases gender-related research, teaching, and social engagement that addresses why the 21st century is still a time profoundly structured by gender, racial, ethnic, sexual, and economic inequality. GRID conceives gender beyond the framework of parity and equity. We support projects that examine gender as a framework that posits that multiple social categories (race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, class) intersect at the micro level of individual experience to reflect multiple interlocking systems of privilege and oppression at the macro social-structural level.

GRID strives to foster collaboration across all departments and schools through shared interests and goals. These include faculty, students, and staff within the:
