Class of 2006 sets participation record of 72 percent

As Dartmouth Life goes to press, the Class of 2006 has broken the participation rate for donations to the senior class gift, with 72 percent of the class contributing towards a total so far of $15,600. Trustees Brad Evans '64 and Peter Fahey '68 gave an additional $1,000 for every percentage point, boosting the total to $87,600, to be used for scholarships. President James Wright and his wife, Susan, contributed $1,000 to the total. Seven Greek houses (Alpha Chi Alpha, Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Delta Delta, Epsilon Kappa Theta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Kappa Kappa Kappa, Lambda Upsilon Lambda) have achieved 100 percent participation. "This is just a tremendous achievement," says President James Wright. "I am so proud of the Class of 2006—they have significantly raised the participation bar. The College is extremely grateful for the senior gift committee's leadership and for the generosity of Trustees Brad Evans and Peter Fahey. The beneficiaries of this will be the students next year."
