Class Divide

David Shipler '64 (left), Pulitzer Prize winning author and former foreign correspondent for The New York Times delivered the introductory lecture for the Dartmouth Centers Forum's "Class Divide" theme.
In partnership with the Hopkins Center, The Dartmouth Centers Forum chose the theme "Class Divide" for campus discussion during the 2007-08 academic year. The Centers organized talks, seminars, symposia, and discussions to accompany a series of events on this theme planned by the Hopkins Center. Designed for both faculty and students, these discussions in various formats focused on contemporary meanings and perceptions of "class" as well as on the current relevance of "class" as a term of political and social analysis.
