Heather Seagroatt brings to Dartmouth considerable experience in campaign planning, principal gifts, and leading high-performing teams. For more than a decade, she has worked in close partnership with presidents and trustees to expand mission impact through inspired philanthropic investment.

Immediately prior to joining Dartmouth, Heather served as vice president for development at Climate Central, a nonprofit research and news organization. During her tenure, she tripled revenue and secured the three largest grants in the organization’s history. Previously, she spent 11 years at Lehigh University, joining in 2001 as director of individual giving. She ultimately ascended to associate vice president for principal gifts, and created and launched the first principal gifts program, working closely with two presidents over the course of Lehigh’s campaign to support projects spanning science, engineering, business, education, and entrepreneurship. Heather began her career in the academy, instructing undergraduate English literature courses at the University of Virginia, Rutgers University, and Russell Sage College.

Heather earned her doctorate and master’s degree in English literature from the University of Virginia and her bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Pennsylvania.
