Let's make 2018 a healthy year together!

Wellness at Dartmouth is here to help you thrive in 2018. We are pleased to offer opportunities that will promote a healthy new year for us all and we encourage you to get involved by completing some or all of the below well-being action items.

Get Engaged with your Wellness Program Option!

The wellness program option you elected during Open Enrollment went into effect on January 1, 2018 (new employees will have a different effective date based on when they elect their benefits).

1. Pulse Program

  • Pulse participants have an opportunity to earn up to $400 in 2018 (up to $800/family if your spouse is enrolled on your health plan through Dartmouth College). Log in or register.
  • Get ready for monthly healthy habit challenges, quarterly Mystery Days to earn double activity points, MOVE IT Challenges, and more! Learn more about Pulse here.

2. Fitness Reimbursement Benefit

  • The 2018 reimbursement form and details can be found here
  • Please note: if you previously participated in the Pulse program in 2016 or 2017, and elected the Fitness Reimbursement Benefit for 2018, you needed to redeem your Pulse rewards at by February 5, 2018. If you did not do this, please call Virgin Pulse directly at 833-532-6896 and they will provide you with a Visa or Amazon e-gift card. After a certain amount of time (it varies by state but is typically 3 years), any unclaimed rewards will be turned over to your state's abandoned property division.

Make a Commitment to your Preventive Health

Take Control of your Health! Many chronic health conditions are preventable and are brought on by unhealthy lifestyle choices. That's why preventive care is so crucial to your health. Being proactive about your health and getting necessary preventive screenings done at the appropriate time can give you the insight you need to make informed decisions. Know your numbers like your blood pressure, weight, cholesterol and glucose, and how they affect your health. Talk to your physician about what preventive screenings you may be due for based on your age, gender, personal health history and family health history. Screenings may be associated with breast health, colon health, cervical health, and prostate health. Dartmouth's medical plan offers coverage for many of these services at no additional cost when you go to a health care professional in the Cigna network. It's always a good idea to call Cigna at the toll-free number on the back of your ID card to confirm coverage prior to scheduling any services.

Take Advantage of the Faculty/Employee Assistance Program (F/EAP) Resources Available

Your F/EAP program, in partnership with ComPsych's GuidanceResources, gives you and your family members confidential support, resources, and information for personal and work-life issues, at no cost to you. Services include confidential counseling, legal support, financial information, and work-life solutions.

  • Call toll-free 844.216.8308
  • Visit, click on Register, enter Company ID: Dartmouth, and follow the registration process.

Help yourself and your office be healthy!

  • Healthy Departments: Use the healthy department toolkit for ways to help yourself and your department stay healthy in 2018. And, check out our latest bulletin board posts; you could even use these to create a bulletin board in your department (we update our posts every month)!
  • Take Energy Breaks: Adding more movement in your day and staying energized is important so don't forget to take an energy break a few times each day! Energy breaks are short 2-5 minute breaks, such as a stretch, a stair climb, a mindful minute or a quick walk. They can help you replenish your energy, feel less stressed and fuel productivity. Looking for energy break ideas? Click here.
