Virtual Discussion with a Doc: Dr. Michael Kisicki, MD

In lieu of our in-person “Dinner with a Doc,” this fall we invited Dr. Michael Kisicki to speak with us virtually on Sunday, November 1st. Prior to joining Geisel as an Assistant Professor of Medicine, he worked at the University of Washington and the University of Connecticut as well as at Kaiser Permanente. He spoke to us about his research focuses in PTSD, schizophrenia, and ADHD, as well as his experiences working with the third-year medical students. He also discussed how telemedicine has been adopted more broadly with the pandemic and its role in psychiatry in particular: it has made it easier to schedule appointments and patients may be more comfortable at home, but there definitely is the loss of “being in the room” with patients. We would like to thank Dr. Kisicki for his insightful responses to our questions and for sharing the challenges and rewarding moments of his role as a child and adolescent psychiatrist.
