The Nathan Smith Society Executive Committee was honored to present its 2nd “Dinner with a Doc” event for the fall term arranged by Shay Vellanki ’16 and Emily Chu ’17 on October 25.

Dr. Ryan Ratts is from the SF Bay Area, and he completed undergrad at UC Berkeley ’96 (double major History and Molecular & Cell Biology), an MD/PhD at Boston University ’06 (PhD on how bacterial protein toxins enter cells), and then the Harvard combined Med/Peds residency program ’10 (Internal Medicine – MGH; Pediatrics – Children’s Hospital Boston). He has been at Dartmouth for five years now, and he currently have 4 jobs: Adult Hospitalist (20%), Pediatric Hospitalist (20%), Basic Science Research (55%) (Hitchcock Foundation Scholar – Mapping the Endosome-Cystosol Interactome to study Endosomal Escape and Endosomal Trafficking Events), and clinical advisor (5%) for the New England Pediatric Device Consortium which sponsors grants for medical device development in pediatrics.
