Letter from Thomas Green, WDCR at Dartmouth College, to Robert Oppenheimer, Princeton University, 15 April 1959

oppenheimer letter, 1958WDCR At Dartmouth College
Hanover, New Hampshire
April 15, 1959

Dear Dr. Oppenheimer:

On behalf of the entire staff of the radio station WDCR, I would like to offer my sincere thanks for your cooperation in permitting us to rebroadcast your address delivered at Dartmouth College last Tuesday evening.

When a famous personality visits Hanover, we feel honored to convey his message to our listening audience, who, I might add, showed particular interest in your address.

To turn to more technical matters, let me inform you that your speech was recorded on three reels of single track tape. Only one track was used to insure the fidelity. The tapes were recorded at a speed of seven and one-half inches per second,, and they should deliver excellent reproduction.

It is our hope here at WDCR that when in the future the tapes are played, they will recall pleasant memories of your visit to Dartmouth College.

Sincerely yours,
Thomas C. Green
Director of Special Events
