About Us

The office of Institutional Diversity & Equity is focused on supporting, assisting, and enhancing Dartmouth's commitment to learning and pluralism. Our planning and programs help to maintain and build an environment that accepts and welcomes difference. While race and sex figure prominently into our office's understanding of diversity, we are also interested in examining and fostering dialog on other aspects of individual and social identity (e.g., age, class, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, language, marital status, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, and veteran's status).

We provide services and identify additional resources that allow for learning and discussion of these themes. We create and coordinate a wide range of opportunities for all administrators, faculty, students, staff, and guests to obtain a greater appreciation and capacity to understand our complex community, the institution, and the people who work and learn on our campus.

ADA/504 Coordinator
Cathy Trueba

  • Serves as the institutional compliance officer ensuring Dartmouth’s commitment to an accessible campus community for individuals with disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (504).
  • Oversees policies, procedures, and training on ADA/504 matters.
  • Collaborates with campus partners including but not limited to Student Accessibility Services; IDE Employment Accommodations Coordinator; Facilities, Operations and Management; Office of Planning, Design and Construction; Office of Safety and Security; Office of Human Relations; Information, Technology and Consulting, Dartmouth College Libraries, Graduate and Professional Schools Liaisons; and Athletics to ensure ADA/504 compliance.
  • Oversees and investigates allegations of discrimination pertaining to the disability accommodation process (i.e., accommodation denials).

Associate Director/ Employment Accommodation Coordinator
Kelly Cusick

  • Serves as the College's ADA/504 accommodations coordinator for employment managing the interactive process to determine reasonable accommodations in the workplace for staff, faculty, and student employees.
  • Consults with departments and programs in providing accommodations to visitors and guests.
  • Collaborates with individual employees, Human Resource Consultants, and department and division managers to ensure ADA/504 compliance.
  • Provides resources and training on workplace accommodations and Dartmouth’s commitment to ADA/504 compliance.

Program Coordinator
Robyn Harris

  • Maintains Vice President's calendar as well as supports faculty recruitment search process.
  • Assists in event coordination and financial transactions for Employee Resource Network groups.

Program Manager 
Kara Wakefield

  • Coordinates diversity-related trainings, programming, and events for faculty and staff
  • Oversees Employee Resource Networks
  • Co-chairs the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Social Justice Awards Committees
