Kristen Defrain
Hello, my name is Kristen Defrain and I’m excited to be back at D4C! I have been an early childhood educator since 2018, working with children from infants all the way up to 4/5-year-olds. I am influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach, having taught at a few Reggio inspired schools. I am passionate about social emotional learning, learning through play, and valuing children’s interests and ideas.
From 2018-2020 I taught as a Lead Teacher in the Black Bear room at D4C! After that, I worked at UNH’s early childhood lab school where I was a classroom teacher and a mentor teacher to undergraduate students. Most recently I worked at Treehouse Children’s School right over the border in Norwich, VT. I have a Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies (Child Development) from UNH and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Plymouth State.
I live with my husband and our two cats (Mufasa and Maisy) and outside of work I enjoy baking, crafting, and spending time with friends and family.
I look forward to the opportunity to get to know you and your children!
