Katy Frederick
My name is Katy, and I recently moved to the area from southern Indiana. The Upper Valley has been wonderful to me! My time at D4C has been transformative and enriching in so many ways, and I am so excited to continue this important work in the Hedgehog classroom.
My educational and professional background spans more than six years of diverse experience in child care centers and elementary classrooms. While working in the field, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Purdue University. I have had the opportunity to work with children from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds, spanning infancy through fifth grade and including children with a variety of developmental, mental, and physical abilities.
I have a deep passion for early childhood education rooted in a whole-child, humanistic approach. I believe that genuine connection is the foundation of a thriving learning environment. I value love, relationship-building, equity, and embracing each child’s unique interests, strengths, and individuality as they learn and grow.
I am so excited to continue sharing my passion for early childhood education in such a nurturing, high-quality environment and to build meaningful connections with my students, coworkers, and families. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy music (especially Taylor Swift!), spending time with animals and loved ones, traveling, baking, and lifelong learning.
