Lead Teacher - Otters

Hello, my name is Josephine Byam, I am the lead teacher in the Otter Room. I’m from the small-town of New Boston, in Southern NH. There I lived with my parents and younger sister. Family is everything and I was fortunate enough to have 13 cousins that lived right down the road from us! I now live in Springfield VT with my fiancé Alex. Surrounded by beautiful farm country and a Christmas tree farm. Our home is full of fur babies. We have Gus our Rottweiler and Franklin the house pig, and our cat Sheldon. We also have horses and chickens!   I have worked with children and in childcare for many years. I started as a child while my mom ran an in-home daycare for family and friends. Babysitting was my first job once I was old enough. As a freshman in high school I started at Strong Beginnings Learning Center.  I worked for SBLC and attended New England College, Studying ECE and Special Education, once I graduated from Goffstown Highschool.

When I’m not working I spend time with my family, take care of my animals and ride my horses. I also enjoy crochet, sewing, hunting and fishing. I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to work with your children and I am excited to be part of the Dartmouth Child Care Center’s team!
