Welcome

The Dartmouth Brain Imaging Center (DBIC) is a research resource that is provided by Dartmouth College to all brain researchers in the Dartmouth community. Current users include investigators from four departments in the School of Arts and Sciences, investigators from the Geisel School of Medicine, and collaborators from the White River Junction VA Hospital.

DBIC Facility and Staff

The DBIC manages a state-of-the-art 3 Tesla Siemens PRISMA scanner in the basement of Moore Hall with equipment for presenting tasks and recording behavioral data and computer systems for data transfer and storage. The DBIC staff can assist investigators with setting up protocols and data collection. DBIC staff can also provide consultation on managing brain imaging data and methods for brain image data analysis.

Research

The DBIC encourages and facilitates research across disciplines, departments, and schools at Dartmouth. DBIC supported research has included with investigators from cognitive neuroscience, social neuroscience, education, engineering, philosophy, music, sociology, and computer science.

Education

The DBIC organizes meetings and workshops to train DBIC investigators, postdoctoral fellows, students, and research staff in different brain imaging techniques, experimental design, and state-of-the-art methods of analysis. DBIC supports the education of undergraduate and graduate students by providing access to the MRI facility for undergraduate honors thesis projects conducted under the supervision of faculty investigators, for the laboratory portion of undergraduate courses on brain imaging, and for doctoral dissertation research.

Community Building

The DBIC builds the neuroimaging community with seminars, talks, and workshops.
