My lab is interested in developing (statistical) modeling tools in the field of molecular epidemiology to analyze human microbiome and epigenetic changes in order to identify microbes and DNA methylation that mediate disease-leading causal pathways in children¨s health research. I am also interested in developing joint modeling approaches to model longitudinal quality of life and survival data in palliative care research to answer important questions in this area. A broad range of modeling tools are involved in my research such as lasso-type regularization, SCAD regularization, mediation analysis, structural equation modeling, GEE, mixed models, Cox model, etc.
