Obverse: Laureate bust of Trajan, facing right with drapery on his left shoulder.

Legend: IMP TRAIAN AVG GER DAC PM TRP COS VI PP (“Imperator Trajan Augustus Germanicus Dacicus, Pontifex Maximus, holding the tribunician power, consul for the sixth time, father of his country”) clockwise from six o’clock. A line border encloses the field.

Reverse: Reclining female facing left, balancing upright wheel on her right leg with her outstretched right hand and holding a branch with her left.

Legend: SPQR OPTIMO PRINCIPI (the Senate and Roman people to/for the best Princeps) clockwise from eight o’clock. VIA TRIANA in Exergue.  A line border encloses the field.
