Tenth Annual Stonewall Lecture
Distinguished historian John D'Emilio will deliver the Tenth Annual Stonewall Lecture on October 29, 2009 at 4:30 pm in Filene Auditorium. D'Emilio, Professor of History and Gender and Women's Studies at the University of Illinois in Chicago, is the author of many books including the groundbreaking 1983 Sexual Politics, Sexual Communities: The Making of a Homosexual Minority in the United States 1940-1970. His newest book is the 2003 Lost Prophet: Bayard Rustin and the Quest for Peace and Justice in America which was awarded the American Library Association's prestigious Stonewall Book Award. D'Emilio has also been awarded Fellowships by both the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
