In Understanding Media, Marshall McLuhan famously made the observation that the medium is the message. The message of this edition of the IWR Newsletter, composed by Karen Gocsik’s Writing with Media course, is that new media and technology are having a profound impact not only on writing and writing instruction, but on how our students navigate their lives. To deliver this message, we employed a variety of media, most noticeably a free content management system from Joomla that required us to re-shape our newsletter to suit the non-linear genre of the web.
