What is it you'd really like to make? A bed, a bookcase, a desk, a chair - a small boat, a big boat, a salad bowl, salad bar - a coat tree or spice rack, a bureau or baseball bat? Whatever it is, chances are good something similar has been built by students here in the Hopkins Center Student Woodshop - students just like you, most often with little or no previous woodworking experience.
Browse through the galleries of recent student creations on this Woodshop Website to get an idea of the variety of projects others have completed. Take a gander at the sole prerequisite (attendance at one regularly scheduled orientation session) you're required to fulfill before getting to work. Then come on down to Room 62 in the basement of the Hop to see for yourself how easy it is to get started.
Instructors are always available to help you when you want or need help. Most of the materials you'll use are available right in the shop. Just about all of the woodworking tools you could ever imagine are here as well.
This is your Woodshop. Come on down and see what's up!
