November 26, 2007: Immediately following our regular weekly meeting, '10s and '11s had the chance to meet with '08s and '09s to ask about off-terms, corporate recruiting, and what courses to take for their majors.
Tuck Mentoring Tea
November 14, 2007:
WIB members met with female MBA candidates from Tuck, who talked abouth their real world business experience and what business school is really like. Held at Zin's Restaurant at the Hanover Inn.

November 7, 2007: Discussion of two articles about female CEO's, featured in the Wall Street Journal and the Harvard Crimson.

November 9, 2007: Co-sponsored by WIB as a part of "35 Years of Women at Dartmouth" weekend.
DC Energy Discussion
October 1, 2007: Three Dartmouth alumni, Daniel Hassouni '05 Th'06,
Steven Hsu '01 Th'02, and Kelly Yazdani '05, who are current employees
of DC Energy, an energy trading firm outside of
Washington, DC, discussed investing in deregulated electricity markets
as well as career opportunities available in the industry.
Fall Golf Clinic

JP Morgan Valuation Seminar
October 5, 2007: This valuation seminar served as excellent interview
preparation for juniors and seniors as well as a great introduction to
finance for freshmen and sophomores. It was led by Melanie Shugart,
Dartmouth '83, of JPMorgan. Ms. Shugart currently works in Telecom,
Media and Technology Investment Grade Debt Capital Markets. She has 24
years of investment banking experience in London, New York, and Hong
Kong.

Co-Mentoring Canoeing
August 9, 2007: WIB members went canoeing on the Connecticut River and
discussed corporate recruiting in an event that kicked off Fieldstock
weekend.
Undergraduate Mentoring: Barbeque
July 24, 2007: WIB members enjoyed a barbeque at an off campus house
and discussed and compared experiences from summer corporate
recruiting.
Senior Panel
May 24, 2007: Five
senior WIB members discussed previous internships, interviewing, and
what they will be doing next year.
Lunch with Cherrie Clark:
May 24, 2007: A professor at Vanderbilt and Tuck '81 who has worked for
Boston Consulting Group, Cherrie Clark discussed her work for a small
entrepreneurial firm and how she decided to become a teacher.
Undergraduate Mentoring: Canoeing:
May 28, 2007: WIB women spent an afternoon canoeing on the Connecticut
River for the last Undergraduate Mentoring event of the term.
Tuck Mentoring: Senior Lunch: Business Beyond College:
May 15, 2007: This Tuck Mentoring event was hosted for graduating
seniors featured Tuck students discussing with WIB women how to prepare
for business school, including taking the GMAT.
Tuck Mentoring: Resume Workshop
May 8, 2007: Tuck
women spent time with freshmen and sophomores explaining the importance
of a good resume as one's own personal selling tool. Undergrads were
taught the basics about resume construction and received one on one
editing of their resumes by Tuck women.
Golf Tournament and Clinic
May 4, 2007: WIB
members participated in either the golf tournament or clinic, depending
on skill level. After being instructed in golf, WIB members enjoyed
dinner with entrepreneur and golf clinician, Leslie Andrews.
Lunch with Jenn Wynn
May 3, 2007: A recent Harvard grad who has spent the last 6 months in
Brazil trying to raise money to open a dance studio in an impoverished
area, Jenn Wynn stopped by Dartmouth to discuss her project and how she
was able to raise enough money for her dance studio in just a few days
in the U.S.
Communications Career Week
April 9-13, 2007: Brought to you by Dartmouth Career Services and WIB,
this week of events hosted alumni panels in the fields of book &
magazine publishing and media & journalism from MSNBC, Random
House, Reader's Digest, and many more; career counselors in Food Court
were available to answer questions during lunch; first-time user tours
highlighted resources for communications careers.
Lunch with Melissa Crounse

1, 2007: Melissa Crounse '03 sat down with WIB members for an informal
discussion about her post-Dartmouth career experiences at IBM and
Google.
Undergraduate Mentoring: Day at the Skiway
February 22, 2007: Dartmouth undergraduate women spent an afternoon at
the Dartmouth Skiway getting to know one another. All levels of skiers
attended, from first-time to advanced skiers.
Dinner with Prof. Constance Helfat
February 20, 2007: Prof. Constance Helfat of Tuck is known for her work
on studying women executives. She joined Dartmouth students to discuss
a paper she wrote about why there are so few female CEO's. Co-sponsored
with Women in Leadership, this event was catered by Peking Tokyo.
Tuck Mentoring Conversations
February 20, 2007: Five Tuck women participated in a panel focusing on
the transition from undergraduate life to the workplace. These women
shared their experiences pre-Tuck and offered advice to undergrads on
everything from e-mail etiquette to maintaining healthy relationships
with co-workers.
Finance & Entrepreneurship: Dinner with James Byrne
February 7, 2007: James Byrne (Tuck '81) spoke about working at Goldman
Sachs and Jefferies &Co. before starting his own brokerage firm in
Florida. Sponsored by a grant from the Portman Fund, Dartmouth students
were able to enjoy this talk catered by Mai Tai restaurant.
Tuck Mentoring
February 6, 2007: Dartmouth women enjoyed tea at Zin's with Tuck MBA
students. Tuck women shared their experiences in marketing, finance,
international business, and corporate social responsibility with
undergrads in informal conversations over tea.

February 1 , 2007: Two female first-year Tuck students came to discuss their experiences with WIB members.
WIB Thursday Lunch Series: Prof. Nancy Marion
January 25 , 2007: Prof. Nancy Marion of the Dartmouth Economics Dept.
sat down with a small group of WIB members to talk about her current
research on open-economy macroeconomics and what she thinks about being
a female academic in economics. She also touched on her current work
for the IMF and her decision to go the academic route rather than
choose to work on Wall Street, receiving both her Ph.D. in Economics
and M.P.A. in Public Policy from Princeton University.
Undergraduate Mentoring: Bowling
January 19, 2007: A group of WIB members went for an afternoon of
bowling during which mentors ('07's & '08's) and mentees ('09's
& '10's) were able to get to know one another better and mentors
shared advice on their internship experiences.
WIB Thursday Lunch Series: John Pepper
January 18, 2007: Founder and CEO of Boloco, John Pepper (Dartmouth
'91, Tuck '97) joined WIB members to discuss how he built a successful
restaurant chain from a student project at Tuck.
WIB Thursday Lunch Series: Corporate Recruiting Internship Discussion
January 11, 2007: Upperclassmen answered questions & informally talked about their experiences.
Goldman Sachs/WIB Shadowing Day on Wall Street
January 19, 2007: 35 Dartmouth women traveled to New York City to learn
first-hand about careers in finance. A morning of presentations by
Dartmouth alumni about the divisions of the bank and the analyst role
was followed by tours of a trading floor and opportunities to shadow
alumni at work in the afternoon. This event was featured in an article
in The Dartmouth.
Informed Decisions: Careers in Finance and Consulting
November, 2006 : A panel discussion with five professional women
currently attending Tuck Business School gave insight into the
differences between careers in investment banking and consulting.
Golf Clinic with Dartmouth and Tuck Women
October, 2006: Tuck and undergraduate women were invited to take part in an introductory
golf clinic sponsored by JP Morgan.
Breakfast with Janet Hanson
October, 2006: A small group of Dartmouth women joined Janet Hanson,
founder of 85 Broads, who spoke about her successful career and the
importance of formal and informal networks.
