year the Frankfurt Book Fair, highlighting Catalonian Culture, will be held
October
1-14, 2007. WESS has had a strong presence in Frankfurt, and in the
outlying village of Gelnhausen, for the last decade;
visionary WESS leaders including Gordon Anderson, Helene Baumann, Beau Case,
Jeff Garrett, and others have discovered the hotels, restaurants, local fairs,
bars, and other cultural venues that make this excursion affordable and fun
as well as a significant opportunity for professional growth.
With an established presence, although WESS is moving on to support other
professional initiatives, it's likely that a group of librarians will, once
more, coalesce around the Frankfurt Fair this year. Newcomers are welcome,
and practical information will be shared liberally.
