53rd Frankfurt Book Fair, Munich and the Bavarian Alps

October 9-19, 2001

You may want to consider joining a group of librarians on a cultural and educational trip to Germany. We will visit the international Frankfurt Book Fair (see http://www.buchmesse.de), attend this year's IBLC Conference and visit libraries, archives, museums, castles and churches in Frankfurt and Munich. The trip ends with two days of hiking and sight-seeing in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area. New WESS members are especially encouraged to participate. Some of our most experienced German Studies librarians have offered to come along as expert guides. Familiarity with German is desirable, but not necessary. This trip is modeled after the highly successful one Jeff Garrett and others organized in 1998. Please be advised that this is not a commercial venture (leaders pay the same amounts you do), nor is it in any official way connected to WESS, ACRL or ALA. Every effort is being made to offer high quality at a very reasonable cost.

It can be lots of fun to travel with a small, compatible, intellectually stimulating group!
