  A listing of digitization projects conducted by German research libraries under the auspices of the DFG. Not all projects have content available at this point. Many of those that do are listed on this page.

Compact Memory: Retrospektive Digitalisierung jüdischer Periodika im deutschsprachigen Raum A major digitization project of Jewish German periodicals (mainly 19th and early 20th century). DigiZeitschriften: Das deutsche Zeitschriftenarchiv Major digitization project for scholarly journals across the disciplines (from Anglistik to Volkswirtschaft). Access to many issues is restricted. (In progress) Enlightenment journals (digitization project) A large number of 18th and 19th century journals, ranging from Berlinische Monatsschrift to Thalia. Search and browse full text. Exilpresse digital A selection of significant German exile magazines (1933-1945) IDZ - Index of German Journals 1750-1815 Indexes about contains 100.000 records of articles published from 1750 to 1815 in 195 periodicals. No full text (although dsome of the journals will be available from the Enlightenment journals procect (above). Jahresberichte für deutsche Geschichte The project covers full-text for the years 1925-1938 (so far) and hincludes author and subject indexes. A cumulative index for 1986-present is also available. Kladderadatsch Satirical magazine, 1848-1944. Magazine Stacks Tables of contents of historical journals Ulk. Illustriertes Wochenblatt für Humor und Satire Digitization covers 1914-1930 of this satirical weekly. ZDB: Zeitschriftendatenbank A union catalog of German periodicals held at German libraries (1500-). See also this page at Johns Hopkins for access to digital dissertations. Austrian Dissertation Database Abstracts only. Switzerland: there is no centralized online index for Swiss dissertations. The annual Jahresverzeichnis der schweizerischen Hochschulschriften remains the only record at this point. Some universities are beginning to publish electronic dissertations.
