The instructional use of the Web seems to be gathering momentum as industry, institutions, and individuals devote more time and resources to developing Web sites specifically for use in education. One criticism of the Web is that there is no quality control. MERLOT is trying to change that by providing a directory of Web teaching sites that have been evaluated using the scholarly model of peer-review.
