Dartmouth holds the distinction of having sent more alumni to the Winter Olympics than any other Ivy League school, with 110 total winter Olympics appearances as of Torino 2006, compared to runner-up Harvard’s 71. (See the January/February issue of Dartmouth Alumni Magazine for additional stats.)
In Vancouver, the College will be represented both in competition and behind the scenes. British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell ’70 helped bring the games to Vancouver, and Scott Blackmun ’79 was appointed chief executive of the U.S. Olympic Committee on January 6. Watch coverage of the games, February 12 through 28, to see these students and alumni in action:
Thomas Ford ’12 (alpine skiing, United States)
Andrew Weibrecht ’09 (alpine skiing, United States)
Laura Spector ’10 (biathlon, United States)

Benjamin Koons ’08 (cross-country skiing, New Zealand)
