Frozen River

This 2008 Sundance Grand Jury winner is the story of Ray Eddy, a mother in upstate New York who is lured into the world of human smuggling when she meets a Mohawk girl from a reservation that straddles the U.S.-Canadian border. The film’s cinematographer, Hanover native Reed Morano, will be present for a question and answer session. “My approach to shooting Frozen River was to put the audience in Ray Eddy’s world,” says Morano. “I wanted it to feel truly authentic. Ray’s world is harsh and unpolished, and for this reason the film is shot that way as well.”
