Take a trip to Italy and tour great works of art through the embellished journals of students who participated in the spring 2008 Art History Foreign Study Program in Rome. Pictured above is the journal of Kimia Shahi '09, with sketches of Caravaggio's The Martyrdom of Saint Matthew (left) and a portrait by Sebastiano del Piombo. "Sketching is a wonderful way to really learn about a piece of art, and I was thrilled with the chance to work on site in Rome," says Shahi. The exhibition is curated by Associate Professor of Art History Angela Rosenthal, Caroline Cima '10, and Meghan McDavid '10, with assistance from Patrick Dunfey of the Hood Museum of Art.
