"We are extremely pleased to add to the Board such a distinguished group of alumni who bring to Dartmouth a wealth of diverse experience and capabilities," said Haldeman. "They not only have strong ties to Dartmouth, but also bring additional expertise and leadership in fields-such as medicine and biotechnology, public service, real estate, and international management-important to the governance of the College."
President James Wright said: "I am thrilled to welcome to the Board such a talented group of alumni. All of our new trustees have demonstrated outstanding leadership as professionals and as passionate, devoted supporters of Dartmouth. Jeff, Sherri, John, Steve, and Diana share an intense commitment to Dartmouth's mission and will provide valuable guidance to the College as we seek to build on our success."
Trustee John Donahoe '82, president and CEO of eBay, Inc., was elected vice chair of the Board. "I am honored to serve Dartmouth in this capacity. Ed Haldeman is doing a terrific job as chair, and I look forward to supporting him during this important time for Dartmouth," said Donahoe.
Of Donahoe's appointment, Haldeman said, "I am pleased that John has agreed to serve Dartmouth yet again by serving as vice chair of the Board. This is a very busy time for the Board as we work to find a new president, complete our $1.3 billion capital campaign, ensure the finest educational experience possible for our students, and increase communication with our alumni."
