The 10th Earl of Dartmouth recently visited the College, which was named in 1769 for his ancestor William Legge, the second Earl of Dartmouth (1731–1801). While in Hanover, William Dartmouth (the name he uses apart from his title) attended and spoke briefly at one of the College's Webster Senior Dinners (shown above with seniors Annie Rittgers, left, and Aimee Moon), and viewed the College's portrait of the second Earl of Dartmouth by Pompeo Batoni at the Hood Museum of Art.
