Dartmouth has implemented a campus-wide emergency notification system. The DartAlert Emergency Notification Registration website is now live.

Registration on the site allows members of the Dartmouth community to receive either an automated cell phone warning or text message if an emergency occurs on campus. Participation in the system is voluntary, says Catherine Lark, director of risk and internal controls services.

This notification is in addition to the automated message Dartmouth-administered land-line telephones and all Dartmouth email accounts will receive containing details and instructions in the event of an emergency.

The system was tested last year, and feedback from Dartmouth employees was incorporated into the system, says Lark.
