"New Crowned Hope: The Arts in the Age of Obama"
![]() Peter Sellars |
Peter Sellars, director of theater, opera, and film, presents a public lecture as part of his Montgomery Fellow residency. In 2006, Sellars served as artistic director for New Crowned Hope, a month-long arts festival in Vienna that celebrated the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth. The festival included works in a variety of media commissioned from international artists.
"Peter Sellars consistently creates works that engage and provoke, and he remains firm in the belief that art is a collaborative event that has the ability to change the world," says Bill Pence, director of film at the Hopkins Center and co-founder of the Telluride Film Festival. "His residency is an opportunity for Dartmouth students to interact on a personal level with one of the most open and inspiring artists of our time."
