This annual family-friendly celebration includes DOC-centennial-themed snow sculptures, ice skating, sleigh rides, music, races such as the "bananathon," campfires with marshmallows to roast, and more. A 1 p.m. parade features the Dartmouth band and "racing couches." The ice castle is the centerpiece of the party. "Hundreds of kids go down the castle's slide," says William Young, the organizer of the party and professor emeritus in obstetrics and gynecology at Dartmouth Medical School. "Ridiculous games keep everyone laughing." Volunteers encouraged—contact Judith Doherty.
