Dickey Center Great Issues Lecture

The Dickey Center for International Understanding hosts Orhan Pamuk, winner of the 2006 Nobel Prize for literature. Pamuk was born in Istanbul and his novels include Cevdet Bey, His Sons, and The Black Book. His 2002 political novel Snow, which tells the story of tensions between political Islamists, soldiers, secularists, and Kurdish and Turkish nationalists, won Le Prix Méditerranée – Etranger and the French foreign literature prize, the Prix Médicis.
