Social Justice Awards Nominations Due August 31

Social Justice Awards logo Dartmouth's Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee will be accepting nominations for the College's annual Social Justice Awards until August 31.

The awards recognize alumni of Dartmouth College and its graduate schools, as well as current and former faculty and staff, who have contributed significantly to social justice, peace, civil rights, education, public health, or environmental justice. A new category now honors student organizations. The awards honor members of the Dartmouth community who have demonstrated their compassion, perseverance, courage, and leadership by engaging in the difficult work of fostering human dignity and our common humanity. Recipients will be selected by the MLK Celebration Committee and will be honored at an awards ceremony planned for late January 2008.

Nominations should include a short biography and any other information that highlights the candidate's or student group's commitment to social justice. Nominee and nominator name, phone number, e-mail, and mailing address must also be included.

Nominations must be postmarked by Aug. 31, 2007, and should be directed to the MLK Celebration Committee, Office of Institutional Diversity & Equity, McNutt Hall, HB 6018, Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH 03755, or via email.  Nominations may also be submitted online.
