Trustees Seek Feedback on Search for College's 17th President

haldemanEd Haldeman ’70

On April 14 and 15, Chair of the Dartmouth Board of Trustees Ed Haldeman ’70 and Trustee and Chair of the Presidential Search Committee Al Mulley ’70 are hosting campus meetings to provide members of the Dartmouth community an opportunity to share their views on the search for the College’s next president. Haldeman says that the Board is eager to receive input “about the future of the College and the type of leader that can best carry Dartmouth forward.” The Board is in the process of developing a Statement on Leadership Criteria that will help guide the Presidential Search Committee’s work. Members of the committee will be announced in early June. Meetings for staff, students, and local alumni will be held on the following dates:

At the meetings, Haldeman and Mulley hope that staff, students, and local alumni will provide input on the following questions:

  • What do you see as Dartmouth’s significant opportunities and challenges over the next few years that a new president must address?
  • What qualities of leadership should the next president have in order to ensure Dartmouth’s continued preeminence in higher education?
  • Are there other considerations for the search that you would like to share?

A separate meeting with Dartmouth faculty members is planned. Trustees also welcome input through an online form, which will be kept confidential. Comments can also be mailed to: Presidential Search, P.O. Box 242, Hanover, NH 03755
