21st Annual Presidential Lecture

Mary Lou Guerinot

Mary Lou Guerinot, professor of biological sciences and the Ronald and Deborah Harris Professor in the Sciences, will deliver the 21st Annual Presidential Lecture, titled “Feeding the World: Are Transgenic Plants Part of the Solution?” A reception will follow. The Presidential Lecture Series was established to recognize the contributions of outstanding members of the Dartmouth faculty. Guerinot is a molecular geneticist and currently has grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Energy, and the National Science Foundation (NSF), including an NSF-funded Plant Genome project that seeks to understand how rice takes up essential nutrients from the environment as it grows.
