The annual United Way
campaign at Dartmouth is off to a great start. As of November 29, nearly
300 employees had contributed and the campaign has raised $97,500,
approximately 37 percent of this year's goal of $265,000.
The 2006 campaign is utilizing technology to make it easier to give with the
implementation of United eWay, a system that allows Dartmouth employees to
pledge online. All Dartmouth employees received e-mail messages on Oct. 10 and
Nov. 27 with personalized links to the site.
Survey results indicate that eWay users have been satisfied with the online
giving experience.
College employees who wish to donate using the traditional paper form can download (130kb PDF) it.
Once completed, the form can be sent via campus mail to HB 6123. Alternatively,
employees may request a paper form from their department coordinators or via e-mail.
Upper Valley United Way (UVUW) provided
funding to 29 local health and human service agencies last year, organizations
that bring support to people in the region, including food and clothing, home
repair, child care, mental health services, and job training.
In 2007, UVUW will open its funding process to all eligible health and human
service organizations in the area that meet local needs identified by the UVUW
through a needs assessment process. "This makes it all the more critical
for the Dartmouth Campaign to reach its goal," says William Hochstin,
chair of the Dartmouth United Way campaign and materials manager in Procurement
and Auxiliary Services.
"The Dartmouth community has always shown tremendous support of United
Way and I know that this year will be the same."
