The author of numerous influential books and articles on communication in business, he serves as the associate editor of the Journal of Business Communication and Corporate Reputation Review, sits on the board of the Arthur W. Page Society, and was honored with a Fulbright Fellowship in 1987. The Department of Biological Sciences has received a $9,950 grant from the George Norman Albree Trust, Bank of America Trustee. The funds will support the purchase of a new spectrophotometer, an instrument that measures light absorption of proteins, nucleic acids, and microbial cell cultures. This instrument is particularly useful for analyzing very small samples of proteins and nucleic acids in molecular biology and biochemistry studies. At least seven faculty members and numerous undergraduate and graduate students will benefit from this new piece of equipment. George Norman Albree, Class of 1912, established the trust to support "the promotion of scientific knowledge and for research, invention, and experimentation."
