"America's Need to Address the Past"
In this public event in honor of former Dartmouth President James O.
Freedman, panelists will address the politics of memory and confronting past
injustices. The discussion will center on Dartmouth College in an institutional
context as well as postwar Europe. Richard Ned Lebow, James O. Freedman
Presidential Professor of Government will chair the panel. Presenters include:
President James Wright; Colin Calloway, professor of history and Samson Occom
Professor of Native American Studies; Jean Kim, assistant professor of history;
Benjamin Valentino, assistant professor of government; and Martin Heisler,
professor of government and politics, emeritus, University of Maryland.
