Montgomery Fellow Lecture

Romila Thapar

Romila Thapar, the preeminent historian of India and author of Early India, will deliver a public lecture, “Interpretations of Early Indian History.” Thapar is in residence at Dartmouth as a Montgomery Fellow and is teaching a course in the history department titled The Perception of the Past in Early India. This is the second part of a two-term series, “Reimagining India,” on the literatures and history of India, presented by the Kenneth and Harle Montgomery Endowment. Thapar visited Dartmouth in 2003 when she delivered the Robert F. Allabough Class of 1934 Memorial Lecture sponsored by the history department to enthusiastic response from students and faculty.
