What's New for Employees

Mortgage Assistance Program
Effective June 19, the College began offering the "Dartmouth Plus" program. Through Bank of America and Mascoma Savings Bank, the program provides mortgage assistance to eligible employees looking to purchase a primary residence in the Upper Valley. For more information, visit the real estate office online.

Employee Discounts at the Hop
This summer, Dartmouth employees are eligible for a special discount on the purchase of up to two tickets for one of the Visiting Performing Artists performances. The Hopkins Center and the Office of Human Resources partnered to offer a 50 percent discount on tickets for select summer events. The final performance in the series will be by Musafir, a folkloric music troupe from India, on Saturday, July 29, at 2 p.m. in the BEMA. To obtain the discount, employees must bring a valid Dartmouth ID and purchase their ticket(s) in person at the Hopkins Center Box Office during regular business hours.

Beginning this fall, the Hop will also offer a 10 percent employee discount on performances throughout the year.

Online Learning and Development Catalogue
As part of ongoing efforts to save paper and to reduce costs, the Office of Human Resources will print a limited number of its Learning and Development catalogues. These will be distributed to departments for placement in their common areas.

Employees can continue to view the catalogue and register online. Current offerings comprise a wide variety of supervisory and work/life balance programs as well as financial planning, computer training, and administrative system workshops.

First-time courses include Smart Searching: Getting the Most out of the Web, and Search 360: One Stop Research (a new service offered by the Dartmouth Library).

Fitness Membership Reimbursements
Effective July 1, benefits-eligible Dartmouth College employees and retirees enrolled in any of the Anthem health insurance programs can receive a $200 reimbursement from their medical plan for the expense of purchasing a fitness membership. To receive the benefit, participants must exercise twice a week in a participating gym for 12 out of 20 weeks and complete a fitness log card.

If so, you may be interested in the opportunity to exhibit or perform at ArtWorks: The Dartmouth College Employee Arts Festival, designed to spotlight the creative talents of Dartmouth employees. Coordinated by the Office of Human Resources and the Dartmouth Staff Partnership, with the assistance of the Hood Museum of Art and the Hopkins Center, the event will be held on September 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in Collis Common Ground.

Deadline for submissions is Friday, July 28.  You may request a submission form via email. Space is limited and acceptance will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

ArtWorks will also feature an online art gallery, with updated exhibitions throughout the year. Look for more details on the human resources Web site soon.
