Acclaimed Indian writer Githa Hariharan, in residence during the summer term
as a Montgomery Fellow, will deliver a public lecture and reading titled,
"In Search of Our Other Selves." Hariharan received the Commonwealth
Writers Prize for her first novel, The Thousand Faces of Night (1992).
The Montgomery Endowment
brings accomplished individuals to campus to enhance learning opportunities.
Beginning this summer, the Montgomery Endowment presents a two-term series,
"Reimagining India," focusing on the literature, politics, and
history of India. In the fall, distinguished historian of India Romila Thapar
will be in residence and deliver a public lecture.
