Class of 2006 breaks participation record for senior class gift
The Class of 2006 has broken the participation rate for donations to the
senior class gift, with 73 percent of the class contributing towards a total so
far of $15,600. Trustee Brad Evans '64 and Trustee Emeritus Peter Fahey '68
gave an additional $1,000 for every percentage point, boosting the total to
$88,600, funds which will be used for scholarships. Evans and Fahey are the
cochairs of the Campaign for the Dartmouth Experience. President James Wright
and his wife, Susan, contributed $1,000 to the total. Seven Greek houses (Alpha
Chi Alpha, Alpha Xi Delta, Delta Delta Delta, Epsilon Kappa Theta, Kappa Kappa
Gamma, Kappa Kappa Kappa, Lambda Upsilon Lambda) have achieved 100 percent
participation.

"This is just a tremendous achievement," says President Wright.
"I am so proud of the Class of 2006-they have significantly raised the
participation bar. The College is extremely grateful for the senior gift
committee's leadership and for the generosity of Brad Evans and Peter Fahey.
The beneficiaries of this will be the students next year."
"Peter Fahey and I would like to congratulate the Class of 2006 for
what they have accomplished," says Evans, adding that while the dollars
raised are important, he and Fahey want to draw special attention to the
significance of class participation. "Giving to Dartmouth is an individual
choice," he says, "but it signifies a collective appreciation for the
quality of experience that students find here. By reaching this milestone,
Peter and I believe that the members of this class have made an important
statement about the value of their Dartmouth educations. What's more, they have
made it clear that they want future generations of students to share that
experience."
