"The '09s and Their Toys: The Changing Face of Science at Dartmouth"

This German-designed galvanometer, circa 1895, was built to measure very faint electrical currents. It is one of the objects on display in an exhibition curated by students in Professor of History Richard Kremer's "Material Culture of Science" class. The exhibition coincides with the publication of Study, Measure, Experiment: Stories of Scientific Instruments at Dartmouth, a new book by Kremer, David Pantalony and Francis J. Manasek that examines the College's important collection of historic scientific instruments.
