Appalachian Trail "thru hikers," those hardy souls who walk the entire length of the Trail from Georgia to Maine, take a break outside Collis Center on July 29. From left, "Jersey Fresh" from New Jersey, "Naked Sun" from Pennsylvania and "South Shore" from New York. The group began its long journey at the end of March and hopes to reach Mount Katahdin in Maine before the snow flies. The Appalachian Trail passes directly through campus and thru hikers aim to stop in Hanover during the late summer months before heading off into the White Mountains.
