 Dartmouth Medicine magazine, the flagship publication of Dartmouth Medical School (DMS) and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, recently launched a major redesign of its website, http://dartmed.dartmouth.edu. The new site features lively graphic presentation, an improved navigational structure, a sophisticated search engine and a richer use of links.
The quarterly magazine is targeted to lay readers interested in medicine, as well as to doctors, scientists and others in the field. Several years of back issues are available on the site and new issues are posted soon after publication.
"We look to the site as a way to dramatically extend the reach of the magazine's impact," explained Dana Cook Grossman, Editor of Dartmouth Medicine. "We're already discussing further enhancements to it, including web-exclusive content." The development of the new site was a joint project of the DMS publications office and Paul Gennaro and Tim Good in the DMS web office.
