The Graduate Student Council
(GSC) and the Office of Graduate
Studies recently announced that Gordon Gribble, the
Dartmouth #1 Professor of Chemistry in the Arts and Sciences, and Brian
Pogue, associate professor of engineering, are
the 2006 winners of the Graduate Faculty Mentoring award. The GSC created the
award to recognize outstanding mentoring by faculty advisors. Gribble and Pogue
both received several nominations addressing their positive attributes as
mentors to graduate students.

The Office of Graduate Studies and the GSC also acknowledged the other
faculty members who were nominated by their students. Many alumni and students
of the graduate programs wrote letters of nomination for their faculty mentors.
The letters are a collective testament to the high quality of graduate
mentoring at Dartmouth.
